SATORI means awakening. This new series is inspired by the changes happening both in the world and to us individually. As we journey down our path in life there are those moments of enlightenment, clarity and understanding. This series will explore those changes and the ways in which we can remain our authentic selves.

HOMO UNIVERSALIS is an ongoing series that explores ancient and modern cultural symbols in a different context than they are usually represented. Symbols are universal thought forms that influence feeling and actions and allow us to communicate with each other.  In order for a symbol to be relevant in a culture, there must be collective agreement on the meaning within that culture. During times of great polarization, finding things that we agree upon is perhaps a way to mend the fabric of our society.  Chaos often precedes change - I believe that our culture is on the precipice of mankind's next evolutionary jump from Homo Sapiens to Homo Universalis.  The series will ultimately culminate in the creation of a new contemporary symbol that represents the culture's advancement to a more universal human or Homo Universalis.

Pangea was a supercontinent that existed during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. Before I had a name for the series a friend of mine who is a teacher saw the piece and thought it was a modern day Pangea...and so it is!

During the Covid Pandemic it seemed that the world would never be the same. In order to try and make sense of what was happening I asked myself some important questions. What really matters? What do I really value? What makes me get up in the morning? What is my True North? Asking myself those questions was the impetus for this series. Finding True North is our internal compass that will always direct us to go the way that is in line with our deepest held beliefs.

This artwork was inspired by the cultural phrase "Hold The Line" which means to firmly maintain one's viewpoint,principles or situation. It has implications in just about every area of life, politics, stock market, sports, military, geography, business, etc.

This collection is composed of 3 dimensional mixed media using various different materials and repurposed items.

Cloistered was bestowed a special award from the San Diego museum of Contemporary Art.

This series takes a look at relationship and connection in an abstract format.

The past informs the present. In capturing the essence of each of these Icons and through tremendous research, I became intimately aware of how they helped to change the world and how their lives were the ultimate sacrifice for their genius.
